Your guides
More than guides, your adventure partners
As a team, we (Nacho and Kirsten) have been working together for many years, traveling the world and getting to know some of the most beautiful places across the globe.
Nacho, from the mountains in Spain to Asia
Nacho trained as an instructor at the School of Mountaineering in Benasque, Spain. Later he worked as an instructor for the Cantabrian School of Mountaineering and subsequently as an instructor in wilderness survival techniques. He has done mountaineering expeditions as a guide with clients and friends to the Alps, Pyrenees, Andes, Central Asia, Africa, Patagonia and the Rockies. Subsequently he worked as a team member for cave search and rescue in Cantabria, Spain. He continues to give mountain and cave search and rescue training to firemen, emergency responders and people who work at heights. Biking has always been a passion for him and when we went to western Mongolia for the first time 11 years ago, we decided with no uncertainty that the best way to see the countryside was on a Fatbike.
Kirsten, capturing the world with her camera
I have been a professional photographer/filmaker for over 20 years, having worked on three continents for Frommers Travel Guides and organized photography and film workshops in Uganda, Spain, Morocco and Cuba. I speak Spanish, French and English fluently and have lived in several countries. My base is in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Outdoor adventure sports and especially biking has been a constant in my life ever since I can remember. We want to take you places where few other travellers ever go so that you can discover for yourself the true character of the places you visit.
Round Square Adventures, a way to share experiences
We set up Round Square Adventures so that we could share the experience we’ve gathered on our world travels with other like-minded travellers. We want to bring our guests closer to the countryside, closer to the culture and closer to the people. Mongolia convinced us with its epic scenery, the warmness and welcoming nature of the local people, the incredible culture, and the quality of our local guide and organizer, Agii, who has accompanied us on all of our trips so far.
Agii, our guide, partner and friend
Agii is a fixer in the real sense of the word. Born and raised in Bayan-Olgii and educated in Kazakhstan, he set up Kobesh Travel in 2008. In addition to his work as a secondary school English teacher, he has been working as a tour guide and translator for more than 15 years. He speaks Kazakh, Mongolian, Russian and English. He has worked extensively with teams from National Geographic, the BBC and ITV.
